Sunil Gavaskar revealed the two cricketing moments that he would love to see before his death. The former Indian player recently took an autograph from MS Dhoni on his shirt during Chennai Super Kings’ previous game against Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2023.
After the match, CSK skipper MS Dhoni did a lap of honour at Chepauk Stadium as he is expected to retire from IPL after this season. Sunil Gavaskar, who was present as one of the commentators during the match, met MS Dhoni and took his autograph on his shirt.

In a video posted by Star Sports, Sunil Gavaskar mentioned about two cricketing moments that he would love to see before his death. He said that Kapil Dev lifting the 1983 World Cup and MS Dhoni hitting winning six in ODI World Cup 2011 final are the two moments that he would love to see before his death.
“Kapil Dev lifting the 1983 WC Trophy and MS Dhoni hitting that winning six in the 2011 WC final are the two cricketing moments I would love to see before I die,” Sunil Gavaskar said.

I Decided To Create A Special Memory With MS Dhoni: Sunil Gavaskar
Sunil Gavaskar, who is an active commentator in IPL 2023, also revealed why he went to take an autograph of MS Dhoni on his shirt. The little master said that he decided to create a special memory with the CSK skipper as soon as he came to know about his lap of honour at Chepauk Stadium.
“I decided to create a special memory When I got to know about MS Dhoni’s lap of honour. That’s why I ran towards MSD to take his autograph. It was his last home game at Chepauk. Of course, he will get a chance to play here if CSK qualifies for the playoffs. But I decided to make that moment special. I was fortunate enough that someone in the camera unit had a marker pen. So, I am thankful to that person as well,” Gavaskar said in the video.
“So, I went to Mahi and requested him to sign an autograph on the shirt that I was wearing. It was so nice of him to acknowledge it. It was a very emotional moment for me because this fellow has made immense contributions to Indian Cricket,” Sunil Gavaskar further elaborated.
MS Dhoni is expected to bid goodbye to IPL after the ongoing IPL 2023. He had a superb performance in the tournament, smashing 98 runs in 9 innings at a strike rate of 196+. He was unbeaten in 7 games out of 9.
CSK have also performed well this season, winning 7 games and losing 5 out of 13. They have 15 points and take the 2nd spot on the points table with one more game to go before playoffs against Delhi Capitals.
