Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) spinner Sunil Narine became the 9th bowler in Indian Premier League (IPL) history to take 150 wickets when he picked the scalps of Lalit Yadav against Delhi Capitals (DC) in the 41st match of the IPL 2022.

Sunil Narine has been part of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) unit since IPL 2012 and since then has been retained along with Andre Russell in all the subsequent IPL auctions. He was bought by the KKR franchise on the insistence of then captain Gautam Gambhir and has been part of the two IPL wins of Kolkata Knight Riders in 2012 and 2014.

Over the years, Narine has seen many ups and downs. The franchise stood by him when he was reported for chucking as recently as 2020. Narine has evolved as a batter and he played as a pinch-hitter even as he was working out his bowling action.
