When you talk about the Test cricket, you would probably point out the weather, pitch conditions, change in strategies from one session to another. and that is the beauty of the traditional format as the players should be smart enough to tackle the situations. Withing in a moment of time, the game will lose its balance to one side. Amidst all, the veteran Indian cricketer, Gautam Gambhir wants Indian team should play like the number-one ranked side in Tests against England.

India should play with attitude without minding result: Gambhir

Veteran southpaw Gambhir desires Indian team to play like champions and tell the opposition that they are in England to win it. He wants India to show their attitude to the opposition with utmost confidence.

Gambhir went on to ask to maintain the same attitude and winning spirit throughout the game.

”Irrespective of how the conditions are, try and play like a number 1 Test side in the world. Because you are here as the number 1 Test side. You try and express the opposition that we are here as a number 1 Test side in the world. Try to go with the attitude and try to go irrespective of what the results are,” Gambhir said while speaking to Cricbuzz.

Signal the opposition we are here to win the series: Gambhir

The Delhi-based opening batsman Gambhir added India should let the opposition know what they are up to. He wants India to send the first signal by picking five bowlers in the side.

The aggressive batsman Gambhir feels that having proper five genuine bowlers are bound to take the 20 wickets of the opposition.

Also, Gautam Gambhir warned India not to rely on part-timers which can backfire as well.

”I think we should go and play with a winning mindset and tell the opposition we are winning. The first signal would be going with your best five bowlers. You give that signal we are here to take 20 wickets. Even if the batters score 250-300, we have got the bowling attack to get you out. Don’t expect Part-timers do the job. It works in limited overs but not in Tests,” Gambhir inferred.

However, it would be interesting to see how India would tackle England in their den. Currently, the Indian team is playing their practice game against Essex at Chelmsford.
