The rare breed in International cricket has done wonders in the contemporary cricket and in such a way Chinaman Kuldeep Yadav has become the name to remember. Ever since his heroics in the limited-over format against England, cricket pundits are eager to watch him in the red-ball format. Meanwhile, Winston Davis, the former Windies player feels he is going to be a real threat for England especially, in dry conditions.
Davis further wants to visit the Edgbaston Stadium to witness the first Test of the five-match series between England and India.
It’s going to be an exciting series: Winston Davis
The United Kingdom-based wheelchair-bound former West Indies fast bowler added the upcoming series is going to be an exciting contest. He feels that the heat wave would probably suit Indian players more than the hosts.
When asked about his prediction regarding the gruelling series, Davis played a fair game by saying that the contest is even-stevens.
Davis on to say that both teams have enough firepower in their side to thump the opposition but he picked his man in the form of Kuldeep Yadav.
“It’s going to be an exciting series. We are experiencing some very dry and hot weather out here and if this continues, it will suit India for sure. It’s even stevens. Both teams have the fire power and are strong. Remember, England have experienced seam bowlers who can be dangerous. On the other hand, India have a good pace attack,” Mid-day quoted Davis as saying.
“Now, England have got better when it comes to tackling spin bowling. But they are not the best in the world on this front. If Kuldeep gets into the rhythm, they will find him difficult to handle. Unless they encounter a green top, India should have two spinners in their playing XI,” Davis said.
First Test will be held in Birmingham:
The first Test is set to get underway on August 1st (Wednesday). Whereas, the second Test is to be played at Lord’s (August 9 to August 13).
The historic Trent Bridge (August 18 to August 22) will host the third while the Rose Bowl (August 30 to September 3) will host the penultimate Test.
Finally, the series will be concluded at Kennington Oval (September 7 to September 11).
