ENG vs IND 2018: Very Excited With Jasprit Bumrah Getting Fit Again: Virat Kohli

India skipper Virat Kohli, on Friday, said the team is excited to have a fit-again Jasprit Bumrah ahead of the crucial third England vs India Test.

Bumrah has not played since suffering the thumb injury during the first T20 international against Ireland. He had later undergone surgery in Leeds, and was selected in the Test squad with the hope that he would recover in time for Lord’s. However, his recovery took more time than expected and he ended up missing the second Test.

In his absence, the Indian bowling attack though did fairly well in the first Test as they managed to take all 20 English wickets. However, they struggled in the second, picking up only 7 wickets as England thrashed India by an innings and 159 runs to go 2-0 up in the series.

But now the pacer has regained his full fitness and Kohli is excited to have him back Speaking ahead of the third Test, the India batting star also heaped praise on the pacer, saying

“Very excited with Jasprit getting fit again. He is an attacking bowler. He bowls good line and lengths, he is very consistent hitting the areas that are required at the Test level. Shown that in South Africa already and he is one guy who is really aggressive in his mind. 

Bumrah made his Test debut earlier this year in South Africa. The pacer was a surprise selection in the Test squad but had gone on impress. He finished the series with 14 wickets, just one shy of Mohammed Shami who was India’s top wicket-taker in this series.

“He wants to take the situation front on and basically make the batsman feel uncomfortable out there in the middle. That has been his biggest strength and he relishes the challenge whenever given an opportunity.  We are very excited that he is coming back. He is obviously a quality bowler and it is great to have someone like that,” said Kohli on the eve of the third Test.
