Young India wrist-spinner, Kuldeep Yadav single-handedly rattled the in-form England batting line-up returning with a five-for in the first T20I at the Old Trafford, Manchester.

Meanwhile, he became the first left-arm wrist spinner to bag a five-wicket haul in the T20Is. The England batsmen were in top form coming to this series scoring tons of runs against Australia. However, they seemed clueless against Kuldeep’s wrist spin.

Jason Roy and Jos Buttler started on the same note taking the attack to the opposition bowlers. However, it was Umesh Yadav, who drew the first blood in England were reeling at 50 for one. Buttler looked in great touch bringing yet another half-century.

However, things started to shift when Virat Kohli handed Kuldeep the ball. He cleaned up Alex Hales in the 12th over reducing England to 95 for two. Since then, it was going nowhere as the young spinner took charge of the proceedings.

He brought his variation to play, as the English struggled to pick him. He removed Eoin Morgan, Joe Root, and Jonny Bairstow in the same over to put curtains to England’s free run flow.

Buttler was still managing to manoeuvre the gaps and steal singles, but Kuldeep put the final nail in the coffin removing Buttler (69) in his last over to return with five for 24 in the full quota.

Meanwhile, in reply, it was one person show for India with KL Rahul winning the match with an unbeaten century. He brought his second T20I century, as Rohit Sharma and Kohli provided him with good support.

The visitors reached the target with eight wickets in hand and ten balls to spare.
