The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has confirmed that England will tour Sri Lanka later this year.

England will play five One-Day Internationals, a one-off Twenty20 International and three Tests. Meanwhile, the tour will kick start on October 10 with the fifty-over series.

England will reach eight days before the first ODI in Dambulla to acclimatise to the conditions. England will play their second game at Dambulla before shifting their base to Kandy. Also, they will play two matches in Kandy before moving to Colombo for the last ODI and one-off T20I.

However, Galle, Kandy, and Colombo will host the three Test matches starting on November 6. The second Test begins on November 14 while the last game of the series commences on November 23.

England will play two two-day warm-up games against NCC and CCC ahead of the Test series.

Meanwhile, the Englishmen will be keen to improve their statistics against the Islanders. In the 13 Tests so far, they’ve lost five and won four while four have ended in a draw.

However, they did pretty well to draw the series last time they toured in 2012.

Also, their record in ODIs is nothing to boast about. England have suffered 15 losses in the 21 games they’ve played so far. In their last tour in 2014, they were handed five defeats in the seven-match series.
