It was a sensational performance by Virat Kohli-led team India, as they bounced back in style to win the 3rd Test at Trent Bridge by 203 runs against England.

It was a much-needed victory for the visiting team especially after the twin losses in Edgbaston and Lord’s.

Earlier in the five-match series, England and India had a close match in Birmingham. However, at Lord’s, the team India were blown away by England inside 70 odd overs in two innings combined and lost the game by an innings and 159 runs.

Captain Virat Kohli led from the front yet again in the third Test match in Nottingham. He carried on a rich vein of form and went on to smash his 23rd Test hundred in the 2nd innings. Kohli would have achieved the feat even in the 1st innings but fell short by just three runs.

Virat Kohli was also impressive as a captain and took quite a few match-changing decisions. He gave the ball to Hardik Pandya at a stage when England was trying to claw their way back into the match.

Some of the calls were spontaneous, and it helped India to surge to a memorable victory. Kohli might have been the captain of the Indian Test side for the last four years only. However, as per the stats, he had already gone past the likes of Sourav Ganguly for most Test wins. It is indeed a great achievement to go past a legendary name like Ganguly. However, Virat Kohli still has a long way to go and will look to win more matches in the overseas conditions.
