Despite the time has passed and the Asia Cup 2018 is about to start, the loss against England is still hurting for the fans. Meanwhile, the veteran off-spinner Harbhajan Singh raises his voice on the series once again. He feels that apart from Virat Kohli, none of the batsmen showed the real consistency or spirit.

The Punjabi lad quoted that the team India’s batting is all about Virat Kohli and wants to do something with the team as quickly as possible. He feels that the 4-1 loss is not a smaller margin in the 5-match Test series.

It was like like England bowlers vs Virat Kohli – Harbhajan Singh

The champion spinner went on add saying that Team India need players like Virat Kohli, who has the guts to show up on the field. He feels that the selectors need to find the players who have the ability to tackle the pressure.

He went to shower the words of praises on Virat Kohli for his courage in leading the team from the front. Harbhajan wants everyone to take the preparation of the Indian skipper as the blueprint to prepare themselves.

‘We did get our chances in England but in a nutshell, I would say we didn’t play as well as we should have. Our batting was all about Virat Kohli. It was more like England bowlers vs Virat Kohli. Had we batted better in England we would have given ourselves a chance to win. In the end, the result was 4-1, which is a big margin. Somewhere we need to get really serious about it,” Harbhajan Singh quoted.

”It’s not a joke. 4-1 is a big number. Whether this was competitive or not is different. We need more people like Virat Kohli that can show the courage in the middle order and score runs in all conditions and situations. He prepared himself to be the leader and he showed that just the way he walked out on the field,” he added.

We lost the opportunity to win the series in England – Harbhajan Singh

The Veteran off-spinner went on to add that the team really lost a big chance to seal the series in England. He once again pointed out the poor batting skills of the team which led to disaster at Edgbaston and the Southampton.

”I definitely feel we lost the opportunity to win the series in England. We were there in the game in Birmingham (1st Test) when we needed 70-odd runs and Virat was still there but after he got out those 70-odd runs felt like 140. From there onwards we did get the opportunities but we didn’t play the right combinations. We left out Pujara for the first game which was a disaster,” he inferred.

However, it was a poor management by the team as far as team combinations are concerned. The silly mistake of adding Kuldeep Yadav and missing out the services of Cheteshwar Pujara is a disaster as termed by Harbhajan Singh.
