After leapfrogging Aiden Markram to become top run-getters of 2018 in the Test format, the India skipper, Virat Kohli is eyeing for another record. The right-hander is just six runs short from completing 6,000 runs in Test cricket.

Virat had a poor show on the last tour of England. He could only garner 134 runs in ten innings at an average of 13.4. Things were bleak for him on that tour that raised many questions on his performance, and reputation subsequently.

However, things went differently on the ongoing tour. He started the Test tour with a grand entry. He not only slammed his maiden ton but also amassed 200 runs in the Edgbaston Test.

In the Trent Bridge Test, same performance gets repeated that helped India to win historical Test. He missed his second century on English soil in the first inning of the Test by just three runs.

If he can achieve this milestone in the first inning of the fourth Test, Virat Kohli will take just 119 innings to do so. The former skipper of India, Sachin Tendulkar took 120 innings to complete the landmark.

Virat could not break the record of fastest player from India to complete 6,000 runs. The former cricketing great of India, Sunil Gavaskar holds this record who took only 117 innings.

Overall, Sir Don Bradman holds the record who took only 68 innings to complete 6000 runs.
