It was a great century by Indian wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant as he thrashed Adil Rashid for a huge six to bring up his elusive three-figure mark. Pant looked in ominous touch and smashed the English bowlers all around the Kennington Oval. Courtesy his innings, India has harboured hopes of winning the Test match in an unexpected fashion. The target is still a long way away. However, they have atleast made sure that India can hope of saving or even winning the Test match.

The southpaw started off in a blazing fashion and has already shared a 200 runs partnership with KL Rahul. The duo has batted superbly in the final day of the match and has defied the English bowlers for a long time. What’s more important is they have scored at a brisk pace which has still kept India in the run-chase. If they do manage to chase the target down, it will be a historic achievement. Pant came out in an attacking frame of mind and started smashing boundaries at will. He went berserk against the bowlers and brought up his elusive century mark with a huge six. It was a magnificent shot. Meanwhile, earlier in the innings he also smashed Moeen Ali for a one-handed six which was simply audacious to say the least.

When the article was written Rishabh Pant was batting on 113. On the other hand, KL Raul is also playing a magnificent knock. He looked in complete command of proceedings and is nearing a 150. The duo has already shared a 200+ runs partnership and could up to something really special. However, with very few overs left in the day, it will be a very difficult task for the visiting team to come out with a victory. However, they should be happy with a draw. Before the start of the day they would have taken the result with both hands.
