England Vs India: Graham Gooch Heaps Praises on England Star Alastair Cook

England mentor, Graham Gooch praises the veteran cricketer Alastair Cook as he is set to retire after the ongoing Test series against India. He announced his retirement on Monday (September 3).
Gooch thinks southpaw Cook has been the rock of England batting over the last 12 years. Moreover, everyone will be unhappy to see him retiring from the Test cricket.
However, Cook is known as the legend of England who had contributed a lot of runs for his team.
“Alastair has been the rock of England’s batting for the last 12 years since he made his debut and while we are all sad to see him retire, we must rejoice in what he has done for our country, he is a genuine legend of English cricket,” Gooch said.
Furthermore, the record of Cook is unbeatable and he has always shown his commitment towards his team. He is not just a cricketer but a good sportsperson.
“His record is unsurpassed in terms of runs and the commitment he has showed for every team he has played for and has been a beacon for our sport as a person and as a cricketer,” Gooch added.
However, Graham Gooch also added few words saying that Alastair Cook has given all his effort towards his team. But concurrent series against India turned out to be a disaster for the England opener.
Cook have had played for twelve years and had contributed everything from his side. The teammates including the management will be very sad after he walks off for the final time in London
However, they will think of the past and will cheer for the contribution that he has added.
“He has decided he has run his race at international level and I can understand that as he h]s done it for 12 years.
“We are all sad he will no longer be wearing the three lions, but he is going to move on so we must look back and rejoice in what he has done for our country,” he added.
Alastair Cook will play his last Test match against India that will be going to start from September 7, 2018.
