Fans Tear Apart Virat Kohli For Not Donating Money During Coronavirus Pandemic

Just like celebrities across the globe, India cricket captain Virat Kohli has been busy too creating awareness among the mass about the coronavirus pandemic. The cricket superstar as well as his wife Anushka Sharma and other Indian cricketers have been busy urging the people to stay indoors and take all precautions to make sure that the pandemic does not increase in the country.
But unlike many, the Indian cricketers are yet to donate money towards the cause. Big names from sports around the world as well as in India have come forward to offer monetary help as the world fights against the deadly pandemic. And fans are not at all happy with it.
As things stand, India need its heroes to stand up and come forward to help. The needy across the country have been hit hard due to government’s decision of a 21-day complete lockdown to combat the pandemic. However, Virat Kohli is yet to pledge any help for the needy.

Unsurprisingly, a number of fans took to Twitter to slam the India batting star for not donating money to the needy during the testing times. Citing the examples of other sports personalities who have made generous donations, the fans tore Virat Kohli apart for his non-action.
Here are some of the reactions:
I don’t care what @imVkohli fans say. He has endorsements worth $20 mn and salary $4 mn. What’s he done for fighting Corona? Nothing. (Love to know if he has.)
Stuart Broad has a salary of $0.8 mn and is worth $70 mn but he’s converting his pubs into grocery centers.

The country needs financial help. You are such a big player, you cannot do anything for the country, just learn something from Ronaldo except sports.

Meanwhile, all the major international and domestic fixtures are off as cricket boards around the globe have come forward to prioritise safety over the game.
Earlier this month, the BCCI called off the three-match ODI series against South Africa after initially deciding to hold the last two games behind closed doors. The BCCI have also suspended the IPL till April 15 and reports suggest that there is a big chance, the tournament might get cancelled altogether this year.
The likes of South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, West Indies, England, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and other cricket countries have also called off their international and domestic fixtures.
