Can't Get Any Better: Fans Troll Sanjay Manjrekar After Ravindra Jadeja Makes Him Regret His Words With Stunning Fifty
Updated - 02 Dec 2020, 01:53 PM
Ravindra Jadeja has once again made Sanjay Manjrekar regret his words with a stunning performance against Australia in the ongoing third ODI against Australia. The spin-bowling allrounder scored a scintillating fifty to help India recover from a stuttering position and post a challenging 302 for 5..
Ravindra Jadeja joined Hardik Pandya in the middle when India were reeling at 152 for 5 in the 32nd over. Both the players showed remarkable maturity as they mixed caution with aggression to take the team to a big total with an unbeaten 150-run stand. Both the players switched gears in the final few overs and took the Australian bowlers to the cleaners.

Jadeja remained unbeaten on 66. His knock came off 50 balls and was studded with five fours and three sixes. On the other hand, Pandya scored 92 off just 76 balls with the help of seven fours and a six.
Fans take shot at Sanjay Manjrekar:
Ravindra Jadeja’s knock has come just a few days after Sanjay Manjrekar had questioned his place in India’s limited-overs teams. The former cricketer-turned-commentator had said he has problems with players like Ravindra Jadeja being a part of the T20I and ODI sides. Not only that, he had also stated that he would not even include Hardik Pandya in his team.
“My selection and thoughts are based on a principle that I have learnt over the years: if you have specialists who can walk-in based on one discipline, you fill your team with those players,” Sanjay Manjrekar told The Hindu.
“I do not have a problem with Jadeja; I have a problem with his kind of cricketers in white-ball cricket. Even Hardik Pandya will not be in my team. They add illusionary value to the team. Of course, I have always rated Jadeja highly in the Test format,” he added.
As Ravindra Jadeja and Hardik Pandya were taking the Australian bowlers to the cleaners, the fans took to Twitter to take a dig at Manjrekar for his recent comments.

Lets not forget – both Jadeja and Hardik didn't make Manjrekar's playing XI for the 1st ODI. Bits and pieces cricketers.

May be, the trick is to stock the Indian ODI team with bits-and-pieces players. Jadeja, Hardik, Krunal, Shivam Dube, Vijay Shankar. Call them Manjrekar’s Mavericks.
