Gautam Gambhir Criticises Virat Kohli For Lack Of Involvement As RCB Captain

Virat Kohli will be under radar once again in the IPL 2020. Kohli has been the captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) since 2016 but has failed to help his side produce the desired result. Former India opener Gautam Gambhir has criticised Kohli for his lack of involvement as RCB captian.
Gambhir, who has shared the state and national team dressing room with Kohli, said that if the balance is not right in the RCB set-up then the Indian captain should have got himself involved even more. Gambhir also pointed out that RCB is still a batting heavy team but bowlers will be happy as they will not have to play as many matches in their home ground in IPL 2020.
“The first thing is that Virat Kohli is the one who has been captaining RCB since 2016. So if the balance was not there earlier, then Virat Kohli should have got more involved,” Gambhir said during an interaction on Star Sports.
“I still feel that RCB look a little batting-heavy. But one thing that you will see a little different is that the bowlers will be happy because they will not have to play 7 matches at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. You will be playing in Dubai and Abu Dhabi which probably have bigger grounds, wickets are not as flat as Chinnaswamy. It is always difficult to judge the bowlers from Chinnaswamy’s point of view,” he added.
RCB has been bolstered with plenty of talents in their ranks. However, they have not been able to make the most of it. RCB have played with the likes of Chris Gayle, captain Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers in their side. But their bowling at the same time has been questionable. Mitchell Starc has missed out on playing for the franchise owing to injuries.
