I'm Going To Get A Beer, Says Ravi Shastri After Liquor Shops Open

With the government easing restrictions in the country, alcohol and liquor have become the talk of the town. The social media is flooded with videos and photos of people desperately going out to buy liquors. There have been huge queues outside alcohol shops across the country ever since the shops opened on May 4.

And when one talks about liquor and alcohol, how can one not mention India coach Ravi Shastri. The former India allrounder is known for his love for liquor and he made it clear once again. With the liquor shops now open, Ravi Shastri said that he would not waste any time in having a beer. At the same time, he said that he would make sure to follow social distancing norms.

Ravi Shastri also picked former cricketers Roger Binny and Laxman Sivaramakrishnan as the two partners he would have loved to have a beer with and hang around during the ongoing lockdown in the country. Ravi Shastri is currently  at his home in Alibaug, which is in the orange zone.

“Siva (Laxman Sivaramakrishnan), Roger (Binny) will be on the top of the list,” Ravi Shastri told India Today.

“With the lockdown now, I’m past the red zone and am currently in the orange zone in Alibaug. I’m going to get a beer tonight, am sure there will be some shop open. And if I had to get 2 guys to get a beer with me I’m sure Roger would have joined me and so would Siva,” he added when asked whom he would like to hang around with in quarantine from the Indian team of 1985.

Meanwhile, cricket action around the world is currently suspended due to the pandemic. If not for the pandemic, the world would have been enjoying the IPL right now. But in the light of the pandemic, the BCCI has suspended the league indefinitely.
