The Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata has witnessed some historical moments that went on to redefine the careers of some greatest cricketers. From India making a remarkable comeback to register a win on the cusp of losing the Test against Australia in 2001 to Rohit Sharma slamming the highest score in ODIs, the stadium is a happy hunting ground for India. In this regards, former off-spinner Harbhajan Singh has mentioned that his best cricketing memories have come at the iconic stadium.

Harbhajan Singh, who is currently at the Eden Gardens Stadium attending the pink-ball Test against Bangladesh had a chat with his former teammates during the supper. Sachin Tendulkar, Anil Kumble, VVS Laxman and Harbhajan Singh talked to Jatin Sapru about some of their greatest cricketing memories. The 38-year old took to social media and tweeted along with all the legends that some of his memorable moments from the sport had its roots from here. He delightfully said that living them again with some of his former teammates and Jatin Sapru feels ecstatic.

Harbhajan Singh’s Eden Gardens heist against Australia

The 2001 Test series against Steve Waugh’s men undoubtedly was the Turbanator’s turning point in Test cricket. The off-spinner, hailing from Punjab, headlined India’s one of the most famous wins in red-ball cricket by taking a hat-trick in the first innings. His victims included the wickets of Ricky Ponting, Harbhajan went on to claim 13 wickets in the match as India went on to win the game and the three-match series after being down from 1-0.

Meanwhile, coming to the game, prior to the start of the historic Test match, Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Sachin Tendulkar met with Bangladesh and the Indian team. The tourists have undergone yet another disappointing batting performance, having been bowled out for a paltry score of 106. In response, the Indian innings has picked up the stability with the captain Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara in the middle.
