There is absolutely no stopping Steve Smith at the moment and there is also absolutely no end to India’s miseries in the ongoing tour of Australia. A couple of days after starring in the first ODI with a 62-ball hundred, the former Australia skipper scored another 62-ball century in the ongoing second ODI against the Men in Blue at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG).

The century was Steve Smith’s third in a row against India in the 50-over format. His last five ODI innings against India have yielded – 69, 98, 131, 105, 104. Overall, he has scored five centuries and five fifties against the Men in Blue in the ODIs.

Just like the first ODI, he had a good platform to bat once again. Aaron Finch and David Warner gave the hosts a flying start after the former won the toss and decided to bar first. Having shared a 156-run stand in the previous game, Warner and Finch added 142 runs for the first wicket in the ongoing game.

Mohammed Shami broke the stand when he sent back Finch for 60. 14 runs later, Warner was run-out for 83. But those two quick wickets did not bring any respite for India as Steve Smith took their bowlers to the cleaners once again. The Australia batting mainstay batted at a fast pace once again and scored his century off 62 balls.

Meanwhile, the cricket fraternity was quick to praise Steve Smith for yet another stunning knock.
