India Women’s T20I skipper, Harmanpreet Kaur has landed in troubled waters. The Punjab police have found Harmanpreet’s degree to be fake. Thus, the Indian linchpin can lose out on her DSP post in the Punjab police.

Harmanpreet was given a prestigious post of deputy superintendent of police after her World Cup heroics last year in England.

However, upon verification carried by the Punjab police, it is found out that Kaur’s paper is dubious.

In fact, the Punjab police unit that has probed Kaur’s graduation testimonials has sent their proposals to the home department. The home department is head by the chief minister, Amarinder Singh.

Harmanpreet can be in troubled waters.

Speaking on the issue, DGP (administration) MK Tiwari told TOI, “Harmanpreet had produced the graduation degree conferred on her purportedly by the Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut.

In fact, when the head of the Punjab Armed Police contacted the Meerut University, they replied the registration number in Kaur’s degree doesn’t exist in their system. Police have sent documents to the state government for further investigation.

However, Harmanpreet denies all the allegations. Speaking on mobile, the right-hander batswoman said,

“I don’t know who has told you this. Waise to Aisa Kuch Hain Nahi (There is nothing like this). I can only talk to you after talking to my department.”

It is well known that Harmanpreet was given the prestigious post on the back of her cricketing achievements. However, her educational qualification is not complete which is required for the DSP post as per the rules.

Meanwhile, this is not the first such case. The Punjab police found out Mandeep Kaur’s degree to be fake. Mandeep was the gold medallist in the 2010 Commonwealth games. She was also the gold medallist of the Asian Games in 2010 and 2014.
