The young sensation, Prithvi Shaw already ticked many boxes to don the Team India jersey at International level. Meanwhile, in a candid chat with ESPN Cricinfo, the Mumbailad stated that he is not thinking about it as of now.
Recently, the legendary batsman Sunil Gavaskar gave an open statement saying that one can see Shaw touring Australia with the Indian team for the Test series.
Speaking of the same, Shaw expressed his gratitude.

The talented youngster reiterated that he is not thinking about the Indian team selection. Instead, he added that he is looking to grab the opportunities which come on his way and score runs on a regular basis and it is his primary goal.

Additionally, Prithvi Shaw revealed the importance of veteran Rahul Dravid in his career and his suggestions to improve the game. He went on add saying that Dravid made a considerable impact in his cricketing career as a batsman.
“One of my friends sent me a screenshot of that from social media. When I read it, I just thought I am very blessed that Sunil Sir is praising me,” Shaw told ESPNcricinfo.
“I will try to not let him down. I am not thinking of playing for India. You never know. I just have to keep grabbing the opportunities and scoring runs. I should be really focusing on each and not thinking too far ahead,” he added.
“Rahul Sir just told me one important thing: Play as many balls as you can. Don’t think about the runs that you score. With my strike rate being good, he said I can always score once I have played enough balls. That made me change my mindset. He said this before the tour of England,” Shaw maintained.

The Mumbai youngster furtherly stressed that he likes to play his natural game. He added that he would want to score runs irrespective of which format he is playing. Shaw is confident that he won’t get hesitated to play his shots.
“I actually like to play my shots, even in four-day matches. I try to make runs, keep the scoreboard moving. That keeps my confidence up. Playing attacking shots is my strength. Sometimes when the bowler is on top, obviously there will be some spell when he will be in control, but when I think I can play some shots, I just go for it,” he asserted
However, the call-up for the youngster is on its way. He already showed his calibre on many stages with big tallies on his back. If selectors rest the regular players for Asia Cup 2018, Shaw might get a sniff.
