Never settled for one franchise: Yuvraj

The Punjab-born all-rounder last represented Mumbai Indians in the IPL to finish his IPL career. He played only four games scoring 96 runs including a fifty in the opener against Delhi Capitals. Although he didn’t get any more chances, Mumbai Indians under the leadership of Rohit Sharma gave a perfect farewell winning the trophy beating Chennai Super Kings.

Yuvraj Singh has represented six franchises in the tournament, said he rues not settling in any side while playing the Indian Premier League (IPL). The 2011 World Cup hero has played significant roles for all his teams but didn’t play long for one side.

“I was never settled in whichever franchise I played for. I didn’t really get settled where you are made to play for one franchise or maybe two,” Yuvraj said.

In the 2014 auctions, Yuvraj Singh became the most expensive player of IPL history. Royal Challengers Bangalore took away the devastating all-rounder for a massive sum of Rs 14 crore after an intense bidding war with Kolkata Knight Riders. Yuvraj revealed that he had his best time with the RCB; however, it was unfortunate not to play for Kolkata.

“I almost joined KKR but last moment (in the auctions), I went to RCB. I probably had my best IPL season with RCB. It was unfortunate not to come to KKR,” he recalled.

In conclusion, Yuvraj Singh said that being with Mumbai Indians and winning the championship, and also winning for Sunrisers Hyderabad was a great experience. Hyderabad won their only IPL title in 2016. Yuvraj will next play in the Global T20 Canada for Toronto Nationals and can also feature in the Euro T20 Slam.
