India leg-spinner, Yuzvendra Chahal feels he has to be more patient for his turn to come to represent his nation in Tests.

However, Chahal has grabbed a position in the limited-overs in the Indian side. He has the ability to pick wickets and to break partnership in the ODIs and T20Is. However, the 28-year-old only played 29 First Class matches in his career has not been favoured for the more extended format of the game.

In addition to that, Yuzvendra Chahal was not a part of the Indian side in the ongoing Test series against the Windies. Meanwhile, Chahal was at his peak in the T20 series against England and in the Asia Cup 2018 where he bowled exceptionally well.

“Obviously I want to play Test cricket, but at the moment there are players like Kuldeep, Jadeja, and Ashwin who perform consistently. So I have to wait for my turn, and whenever I get the chance, I’ll make sure I’m ready because I have to be at my best when competing with legends like them,” Yuzvendra Chahal said in Chennai, where he was playing for Haryana in the Vijay Hazare Trophy.

Chahal also added he is ready to compete with the spinning legends like Kuldeep, Jadeja, and Ashwin.

Moreover, Yuzvendra Chahal and his partner Kuldeep Yadav have replaced the duo Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja in the limited-overs format. It could have happened considering the 2019 World Cup in England and Wales.

However, Chahal is also aware of the competition, and he needs to be more focused to achieve the feat.

“There is a lot of healthy competition for the spots. You know that if you don’t bowl well, there’s always someone ready to take your place. It’s a good thing because it pushes you to work harder,” he added.

Meanwhile, Chahal wants to play for at least seven to eight years, and he also wants to keep challenging himself to get better. He might be back for the ODI and T20I series against the Windies.
