Well, hitting 6 sixes in an over has always been a special feat in International Cricket. Only a few of them has created such magic in the middle while a few of them came close but failed to make things fall in place. In the latest, Shreyas Iyer has been the closest, who smashed three sixes in an over of Afif Hossain when India faced Bangladesh at Nagpur.

In the 15th of India’s innings, Iyer went after spinner Hossain, who came out to bowl for the first time in the game. The stylish right-hander slammed three sixes off the first three balls of the over as Hossain was left clueless by the onslaught.

While it looked like Iyer was going for six sixes off the over, he ended up playing a dot ball on the fourth delivery and took a single off the next one to bring up his maiden T20I fifty in just 27 balls.

Coming in to bowl his first over of the game, with Shreyas Iyer batting on 31 off 22 balls, the offspinner faced the wrath of the batsman’s power game. Using his muscles, Iyer powered his already swift innings and clobbered a huge six over long-on and into the stands.

Speaking of those three sixes, Shreyas Iyer, on Chahal Tv, quoted that he was looking to find three more sixes in order to make it six in a row. He added that every batsman would try to make it six in six when he smashed first three balls out of the park.

“I was going for six sixes, but I knew after hitting three, the bowler will throw in a yorker.”But, in that situation, you can’t do anything and when you hit three boundaries, you have to go for six sixes, any batsmen would do the same,” Shreyas Iyer quoted.

Iyer continued his impressive run with the willow as he looks on the road to cement his spot in the Indian side. He had played a crucial 24-run-knock in the second T20I on Thursday to take India over the line comfortably in their comprehensive eight-wicket win and followed it up with a brilliant knock on Nagpur on Sunday.
