India thrashed New Zealand at the Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui on Sunday the fifth and final T20 international. While the men in blue were nothing less than clinical in all the departments, their pace bowling all-rounder Shivam Dube created an unwanted record. Ross Taylor and Tim Seifert joined hands to hammer 34 runs off Dube’s over that went on to become the second-highest runs conceded by a bowler in a single over in T20 internationals. It was the very moment when Stuart Broad came into the spotlight and sheepishly answered ICC question of who gave away the most runs.

It was in the tenth over of the Kiwi’s innings when they needed a big over to let the pressure off completely. It happened precisely that as the duo combined to release themselves from the shackles created by some tight Indian bowling. Taylor and Seifert smashed three sixes and two boundaries in that massive over which momentarily changed the complexion of the match.
But Englishman Stuart Broad’s infamous over of 36 runs is forever glued to every cricketing fan’s minds. And Broad incidentally holds the unwanted record. When the ICC conducted a trivia in the social media, asking who is the bowler to concede the maximum runs, Broad stepped forward and said that he doesn’t know the answer. It occurred in the 2007 ICC World T20 at the Kingsmead in Durban when left-handed batsman Yuvraj Singh smoked Stuart Broad for six sixes all over the park. But this hasn’t stopped him from becoming one of the best bowlers in Test cricket today.
India blank the Kiwis to take the T20I trophy:
Meanwhile, the tourists not only reigned supreme in the final match of the five-game T20 series, but also became the first team to win it by 5-0 in T20 internationals. KL Rahul received the man of the match award for scoring 224 runs across five innings at a staggering average of 56. The two sides will square off in the three-match ODI series that begins from the 5th of February.
