ICC T20I Rankings: India Climb Up to the Second Position

Indian team has climbed to the second position in the latest ICC T20I rankings after their 2-0 series win against Ireland. India was in the third position before the series. However, the series win against the lowest rank Ireland (who are at the 17th place) helped them leapfrog Australia.

Thus, India has 123 rating points to cement their second place in the rankings. On the other hand, Australia slipped to the third position after losing their solitary T20I against arch-rivals England. The Aussies have 122 rating points under their belt. Meanwhile, Pakistan continues to occupy the numero uno position with 131 rating points under their bag.

Pakistan will like to consolidate its position in the tri-series.

Indian skipper Virat Kohli continues to occupy the eight place in the latest ICC T20I rankings. Lokesh Rahul and Rohit Sharma take the 12th and 13th place respectively in the rankings table. Rahul had scored a fine fifty in the second T20I against Ireland while Rohit had smashed 97 in the first match.

Rohit’s opening partner Shikhar Dhawan who scored a fine 74 in the first match occupies the 17th place in the batsmen rankings. Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Babar Azam is at the summit of batsmen’s rankings.

On the other hand, Rashid Khan is at the pinnacle of the bowler’s rankings with 813 rating points. Yuzvendra Chahal who scalped six wickets against Ireland is at the third place with 706 points. Jasprit Bumrah who is ruled out of the England T20I is at the 10th place in the rankings.

Meanwhile, Bhuvneshwar Kumar is at the 21st place in the rankings. Australia’s Glenn Maxwell is the top of the all-rounder rankings with 389 rating points.

India T20I series against England and tri-series involving Pakistan, Australia and Zimbabwe will determine who leads the charts in the upcoming time.
