Australia’s leg-spinner Adam Zampa had made the headlines in the 14th match of the ongoing ICC World Cup 2019 against India at Kennington Oval, London. No, Zampa didn’t make the news for his bowling figures as he leaked 50 runs in the six overs he bowled without any wickets in his bag. However, Zampa was the talk of the town as there was speculation of him trying to alter the condition of the ball.

Thus, a video had gone viral on social media when Adam Zampa was putting his right hand into his pocket and then he was rubbing the ball. However, Australian skipper Aaron Finch has settled the dust as he clarified that Adam Zampa generally uses hand warmers while bowling. The London temperature was around 10-degree Celsius and it was natural that Zampa was using hand warmers.

Meanwhile, Australia was struck by a massive ball-tampering controversy when Cameron Bancroft was caught red-handed. Hence, it had led to the suspension of Steven Smith, David Warner and Bancroft.

“I haven’t seen the photos, but I know that he has hand warmers in his pocket,” Australia’s captain Aaron Finch said.

“He has them every single game he plays.

“I honestly haven’t seen them (the images), so I can’t comment too much on it. But I know for a fact that he has hand warmers every game.”

Here is the video which had gone viral on Twitter.

Meanwhile, Cricket Australia has also stated Adam Zampa generally uses hand warmers even during the Big Bash League. In fact, Zampa was not put under any investigation as the on-field umpires didn’t raise any concerns regarding the same.

On the other hand, India was able to cruise to a comprehensive win of 36 runs after they put 352 runs on the board. Australia will next play Pakistan at Cooper Associates County Ground, Taunton on June 12 and the reigning champions will aim to come back stronger.
