Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) spinner Kuldeep Yadav is going through a rough patch in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL). His poor show in the cash-rich has compelled the management to drop him from the playing XI. But veteran off-spinner Harbhajan Singh feels it will have no bearing when the young spinner travels to England.

Kuldeep Yadav has so far bagged only four wickets from nine matches. The economy-rate has also been on the higher side which has been a significant factor Kolkata Knight Riders are struggling in this season. The management dropped the out-of-form bowler in the last match against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Harbhajan Singh while admitting that Kuldeep is going through a tough time said that a different Kuldeep would be playing in the World Cup. The Chennai Super Kings cricketer added that the ongoing performance would take a toll on his confidence, but Kuldeep Yadav will come out of it before the whole team sets for England.
“There is no doubt that Kuldeep is going through a rough patch in IPL. T20 is a format which can destroy the confidence of any bowler but let’s not compare formats.“One-day (match) is a different ball game and you will see a very different Kuldeep,” Harbhajan told PTI.
We will see a different Kuldeep in England
Furthermore, Harbhajan Singh added that there is no technical glitch in Kuldeep Yadav’s bowling. He also backed the young spinners saying that mostly the Indian batsmen have taken him to bonkers who are good players of spin bowling. Harbhajan believes the overseas cricketers will still find it challenging to pick Kuldeep and he will be a different bowler altogether in the World Cup for the men in blues.
“I have watched a bit of his bowling and I don’t think there are any technical problems. And please check who all are hitting Kuldeep? The Indian guys are primarily hitting him. They read Kuldeep’s wrists much better than foreign batsmen. So in World Cup, Kuldeep will be bowling mostly to those who are still not reading him well. I think you will see a different Kuldeep,” Harbhajan added.
In conclusion, Harbhajan Singh added that he wants Kuldeep Yadav to be aware of the situation and bowl differently when he is getting hit. He also urged Kolkata Knight Riders skipper Dinesh Karthik to handle him better. Many have tipped Kuldeep to be India’s match-winner in the upcoming quadrennial tournament considering his performance in England in the last year. He will be leading spinner for the Indian National Cricket team alongside Yuzvendra Chahal and Ravindra Jadeja.
