ICC World Cup 2019: Sheldon Cottrell Finally Responds To Mohammed Shami Making Fun Of His Salute Celebration

India’s dominant run in the ICC World Cup 2019 continues as they knock out West Indies from the contention of a top-four place beating them by 125 runs. The bowling led by Mohammed Shami stood up to deliver once again in the tournament to keep the winning run going. Although Shami grabbed the eyeballs with his stellar display of bowling, he imitating Sheldon Cottrell’s celebration after his dismissal also made the headlines. The West Indies quick has finally responded saying that all was done in good spirit and there was no disrespect to the Army.

Cottrell responds to Shami’s imitation

West Indies were upto the mark after Virat Kohli opted to bat first. Rohit Sharma fell early of an inswinger from Kemar Roach. Although India managed to revive, but the team from the Caribbean Islands bounced back with three quick wickets. Kohli stood tall to score his fourth consecutive fifty in this World Cup. Although he failed to cross the three-figure mark getting out for 72, MS Dhoni and Hardik Pandya’s late contribution helped India post 268 runs – a challenging total on the board.

Meanwhile, it was a chaseable target, but the Indian bowlers stood upto the task to rattle West Indies for 143. Mohammed Shami picked four while Jasprit Bumrah and Yuzvendra Chahal claimed two wickets each to seal the tie convincingly. Meanwhile, after the dismissal of Sheldon Cottrell, Shami imitated his trademark salute celebration which has gone viral on the internet.

However, it was all in good fun of course, and even Cottrell smiled at Shami’s imitation act. And now the West Indies quick has responded to it saying that it was a fun act and lauded the Bengal pacer’s great display of bowling.
