Windies Cricket team fast bowler Sheldon Cottrell plucked onto a one-handed stunner at the boundary ropes to dismiss former Australia skipper Steve Smith at the Trent Bridge in Nottingham. Meanwhile, Smith steered the Aussies with a fighting half-century before getting out to an unbelievable catch.

Meanwhile, Windies skipper Jason Holder opted to field first after winning the toss. Sheldon Cottrell and Oshane Thomas posed questions with raw pace and bouncers as the Australia openers found it hard to tackle. Thomas provided the first breakthrough removing Aaron Finch while Cottrell removed Warner to have the Aussies at 26 for two in just four overs.

Last match hero Andre Russell also joined the party while Thomas claimed his second to have Aussies at 38 for four and was struggling big time. Since then, former Aussie skipper Steven Smith steered the innings and stitched partnerships with Marcus Stoinis, Alex Carey, and Nathan Coulter-Nile to bail out Australia from all the troubles. Although the wicket was not easy to bat on, Smith used all his experience to guide his team. Stoinis and Carey departed chipping in with 19 and 45 runs respectively, but Smith looked determined to guide Australia to a good score and in the process reached his fifty.

While Nathan Coulter-Nile took the attacking route, Smith was happy to play second fiddle. But a moment of brilliance from Sheldon Cottrell put curtains to his innings. It was a loose delivery from Oshane Thomas as Smith flicked it in style when Cottrell ran from nowhere to grab a one-handed stunner. Cottrell’s signature move of saluting the soldiers was soon on the display as he gets a great round of applause, while the fans booed Smith off the field.
