India have made a thumping start to their ICC World Cup 2019. They have won five matches while one was a washout against New Zealand to keep their winning streak going. Last night, they secured a convincing win over West Indies to knock them out of the tournament. Seeing India’s dominant run, former England skipper Michael Vaughan has admitted that the team who will beat India will lift the trophy on July 14.

Meanwhile, the Men in Blues will take on host England in their next game on June 30 (Sunday). While England have suffered two back-to-back defeats, India sinked West Indies to knock them out of the World Cup. It was the talismanic run-scorer Virat Kohli who led the team from the front after losing Rohit Sharma early. He and KL Rahul began the revival, and in the process, Kohli brought his 20000 international runs. Things were going smooth for India when West Indies bounced back with three quick wickets to have India at 140 for four.

Kohli went onto reach his fourth back-to-back half-century but once again failed to convert it to a big century. Although he got out leaving India in dire trouble, MS Dhoni (56*) and Hardik Pandya (46) ensured the bowlers have something to bowl at. Things looked easy from the West Indies’ perspective at the break, but Mohammed Shami used his opportunities to great effect to change the course of the game. He removed Chris Gayle and Shai Hope within seven overs to nullify the advantage West Indies at the end of India’s innings. The spinners and Jasprit Bumrah dominated the middle overs before Shami came back to finish things off in style.

Soon after the game, former England skipper Michael Vaughan who has been an ardent fans India’s style of playing said that Virat Kohli & Co are the team to beat. He also said that whoever beats India will win the World Cup.
