ICC World Cup 2019: Yuvraj Singh Picks Top Two Teams of the Tournament

Recently retired Yuvraj Singh has picked hosts England and India to be the top two sides of the World Cup. India and England have played consistently in the recent past and Yuvraj Singh expects India and England to be the finalists of the World Cup. The former southpaw believes India has a great chance of going all the way.

On the other hand, Yuvraj Singh added that defending champions Australia is right up there with the best teams. Australia has peaked at the right time and they have had a good start to the tournament. Meanwhile, the former left-hander believes it would be a toss-up between West Indies and New Zealand for the fourth team.

In fact, Pakistan had also surprised England by 14 runs. Thus, Yuvraj Singh said that the contest is getting interesting between the top sides of the World Cup.

 

Yuvraj Singh said on Cricket World Cup twitter handle, “I think we have a great chance. Definitely, think it is going India or England. Australia is right up there. West Indies is surely coming as the fourth team – West Indies or New Zealand. If you see on paper or the World Cup is shaping up, I would say India or England. Pakistan has also beaten England, so it is getting very interesting”.

India and England have been the most consistent sides in the last two years. England has won three matches out of the four they have played thus far and they would like to continue their good work going. England also has the home advantage under their belt and would like to go all the way.

On the other hand, India has won two out of their three matches. India won their opening two matches against South Africa and Australia. However, their third match against New Zealand was called off due to rain.
