The team of the tournament for ICC World Cup 2023 Qualifiers was revealed by ICC (International Cricket Council) on Monday (July 10). Netherlands skipper Scott Edwards was picked as the captain. Sri Lanka skipper Dasun Shanaka was not picked in the team.
Three players each from Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, and the Netherlands made it to the Team Of the Tournament of ICC World Cup 2023 Qualifiers. Sri Lanka and the Netherlands were the finalists of the tournament, which witnessed a battle among 10 teams.

ICC World Cup 2023 Qualifiers Team Of The Tournament Revealed
From Sri Lanka, opener Pathum Nissanka was chosen in the team of the tournament. Sri Lankan spinners Wanindu Hasaranga and Maheesh Theekshana also made the cut to the final playing XI.
Three players from the Netherlands too managed to get a place in the team. They were opener and all-rounder Vikramjit Singh, middle-order batter Bas de Leede, and Netherlands captain and wicketkeeper Scott Edwards. The latter was also picked as the captain of this team.

Zimbabwe, who failed to reach the final and qualify for ODI World Cup 2023 even after playing on home soil, got three players selected for the team of the tournament. For Zimbabwe, Sean Williams, Sikandar Raza, and Richard Ngarava were the three names who became part of the list.
The two other players in the team were Scotland’s one-down batter Brandon McMullen and pacer Chris Sole. Scotland could not reach the final but outplayed giants like West Indies and Zimbabwe during the tournament.

Meanwhile, Dasun Shanaka-led Sri Lanka and the Netherlands reached the final of ICC World Cup 2023 qualifiers to grab a spot in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023, set to take place in Oct-Nov this year. In the final, Sri Lanka crushed the Netherlands by 128 runs.
