The retention list for the second season of International League T20 (ILT20 2024 ) was out on Monday. Many players who were part of the various teams in the first season were retained by their respective franchises.

ILT20 is a franchise T20 tournament organized by (UAE) Emirates Cricket Board. The first edition of the tournament took place in January this year. A total of six teams were part of the tournament. Many top international players are part of ILT20.

ILT20 2024: Retentions List Out For Second Season

All six franchises revealed their retentions list for the second season of ILT20 i.e. ILT20 2024. The maximum salary cap of each franchise is US $2.5 Million. The minimum expense is US $1.5 Million.

Teams like Gulf Giants, Desert Vipers, and MI Emirates have retained many players from the first season. On the other hand, Dubai Capitals, Sharjah Warriors, and Abu Dhabi Knight Riders have dropped many names from their squads.

Some prominent players who have made it to the retentions list of various franchises are Alex Hales, Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, Shimron Hetmyer, Wanindu Hasaranga, Sikandar Raza, Rovman Powell, Chris Jordan, James Vince, Dwayne Bravo, Kieron Pollard, Nicholas Pooran, Trent Boult and Chris Woakes.

Meanwhile, Gulf Giants were the champions of ILT20 2023. The team crushed Desert Vipers by 7 wickets in the final to clinch the trophy. In the league stage too, Gulf Giants finished in the top spot on the points table. MI Emirates finished in the 3rd spot.

Abu Dhabi Knight Riders were the worst performers of the season, finishing in the last spot in the points table. The team won just 1 game and lost 8 out of 10. A total of 34 matches took place during ILT20 2023 in a double round-robin format.
