'Imagine The Betrayal Dhoni Would've Faced': Fans Slam Gautam Gambhir For His Latest Dig At MS Dhoni

Former India batsman Gautam Gambhir is once again facing the heat from the fans for his recent tweet on Sanju Samson. It all happened after Samson’s stunning knock for Rajasthan Royals against Kings XI Punjab on Sunday. The right-handed batsman scored 85 off just 42 balls to star in Royals’ record win.
The Royals chased down 224 to register the highest successful chase in the history of the tournament. Samson was definitely the architect of the win as he slammed 85 off just 42 deliveries and was later adjudged the Man of the Match. Apart from him, Steve Smith and Rahul Tewatia, who hit five sixes in an over, scored fifties too as Royals won the game with three balls remaining.
Soon after the game ended, Gautam Gambhir, who rarely shies away from taking shots at MS Dhoni, raised some eyebrows with his tweet for Sanju Samson. It all started when Congress leader Shashi Tharoor took to Twitter to praise the batsman and recalled how he had told him he would be the next MS Dhoni.
The tweet, however, did not go down well with Gautam Gambhir and he decided to react to it. A big admirer of Samson, Gautam Gambhir wrote that the Kerala star ‘does not need to be the next anyone’ and that he will be ‘the Sanju Samson of Indian cricket’.
“Sanju Samson doesn’t need to be next anyone. He will be ‘the’ Sanju Samson of Indian Cricket,” wrote Gautam Gambhir. The tweet, however, did not go down well with several fans and they slammed the batting legend.
Here are some of the reactions:

Please stop trying to jinx him to satisfy your personal vendetta against Dhoni (at least have balls to name him). Let him have a good season.
And yeah, Dhoni is the hero of World Cup 2011 Final. https://t.co/TIXNfhncHK— George (@VijayIsMyLife) September 28, 2020
