With the Asia Cup fast approaching, the cricketing world is once again gearing up to see India and Pakistan take on each other. The two arch rivals fighting out against each other on the field is one of the best spectacles in the game. With so much at stake, neither of the teams give each other even breathing space.

What has further made this fixture exciting is the lack of it.  The arch-rivals have not played a full bilateral Test series since 2007 when Pakistan visited India for three Tests and five One-Day Internationals. They played a short series of three ODIs and two T20s in India in December 2012, but otherwise, both have faced each other only in the ICC organised events or the Asia Cup.

The last time the two teams had met, Pakistan had thrashed their neighbours to win the coveted Champions Trophy.
