Salman Butt was full of praises for Virat Kohli after the latter slammed a brilliant 79-run knock in the 1st innings of the ongoing IND vs SA 3rd Test in Cape Town. Kohli, who did not play the IND vs SA 2nd Test due to a back issue, made a comeback with an impressive batting performance in Cape Town Test.

Virat Kohli came out to bat when opener KL Rahul got out cheaply after scoring just 12 runs and India was 31-1 on the board. The right-handed batsman played a total of 201 deliveries and scored 79 runs, before eventually losing his wicket to Kagiso Rabada. Kohli held the strike on one end and remained on the crease till India reached 211 on the scoreboard. Kohli was the second last wicket that the team lost in the 1st innings.

It Looked Like Vintage Virat Kohli: Salman Butt

While speaking on his YouTube channel, former Pakistan cricketer Salman Butt praised Virat Kohli for his impressive knock in Cape Town. He said that it looked like a vintage Kohli batting on the crease.

“It looked like vintage Kohli. It was an outstanding display of discipline. If a youngster wants to bat at the highest level, this is the discipline you need. When you’re leaving the deliveries on length, you know you are in good form. The ball was seaming in the start, Kohli even took body blows but it was a brilliant display of grit and command. It was a masterclass,” Salman Butt said.

The former Pakistan skipper Salman Butt also added that Virat Kohli was exemplary to watch and termed his batting technique as fantastic.

“Exemplary to watch. Any batter; youngsters obviously; or even any international player who wants to know how to stay determined on a difficult pitch. When you aren’t scoring runs, you are under pressure. No one can escape that. Especially the player who has scored so many hundreds. Despite all the pressure, his pick and choose and the way he found the lengths, it’s fantastic,” Butt further said.
