India’s premier fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar provided a perfect start to his team. Kumar was able to get the ball to move into the Australian skipper Aaron Finch. Thus, Kumar was able to find the gulf between Finch’s bat and pad to castle the leg-stump of Finch. In fact, Aaron Finch has had his issues against the incoming delivery in the recent past.

Finch was on to the front foot and he could not make the connection with the ball. Meanwhile, Bhuvneshwar Kumar is making a comeback into the team as he was drafted into the playing XI in place of Mohammed Shami.

Kumar was right on the money.

In fact, Bhuvneshwar Kumar was not picked in the squad for the first two One Day Internationals. However, he had returned to the squad for third ODI but didn’t get a chance in the playing XI. Thus, it was crucial for Kumar to hit the ground running on his comeback. Hence, it is a healthy competition between Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mohammed Shami.

Meanwhile, India has posted a gargantuan score of 358 runs after skipper Virat Kohli won the toss and decided to bat first. Shikhar Dhawan got back into form as the southpaw opener scored a blistering knock of 143 runs off just 115 balls. The left-hander scored 18 fours and three sixes in his knock.

On the other hand, Rohit Sharma borrowed some time in the initial phase of the innings. However, the flamboyant batsman was able to change the gears. Sharma scored a fine knock of 95 runs off just 92 balls with the help of seven fours and two sixes.

Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma added a mammoth partnership of 193 runs for the opening stand. This was the 15th-century stand between the talisman openers as they brought their best to the table.

Meanwhile, India currently leads the five-match series by 2-1.

Here is Kumar’s inswinger:

Cricket is my first love. I want to be a wordsmith. I want to weave magic with my words.
