India’s fast bowler Mohammed Shami believes it is difficult to bowl against the wind. A strong breeze was flowing in the stadium in the third ODI in India vs New Zealand 2019 series. As Bay Oval is an open stadium, it makes it more difficult for a bowler who is bowling against the wind. However, bowling with the wind is always an advantage for a fast bowler.

Meanwhile, Mohammed Shami took the challenge with both hands as he once again provided a good start to his team. Shami took the wicket of Colin Munro in his very first over. Furthermore, Mohammed Shami scalped the crucial wicket of Ross Taylor, who top-scored for the hosts with 93 runs.

Shami also accounted for Ish Sodhi when Virat Kohli took a simple catch, after dropping one. Thus, Shami has answered the search for India’s third seamer for the ICC World Cup 2019.

Hence, Shami was awarded the second Man of the match of ongoing India vs New Zealand series. Shami scalped three wickets and gave 41 runs in his nine overs.

The fast bowler had also bowled with fire in the opening match of the series in which he had also taken three wickets. Shami had also become the fastest Indian bowler to get to 100 ODI wickets as he got there in 55 ODI matches.

Mohammed Shami said while talking in the post-match presentation, “It’s really difficult to bowl against the wind. One comes with the wind and the other is against the wind. It is difficult but not too hard. Bhuvi at the other end was also a great help. Sticking to areas where we want to bowl is the key”.

Mohammed Shami chose to speak in English at the presentation. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli had translated his Hindi into English after the first match at Napier. Consequently, former New Zealand bowler Simon Doull was all impressed by Shami. Simon said to Shami, “Your English Bahut acha. (Your English is very good)”.
