Former Indian National Cricket team opener Virender Sehwag has hailed India’s dominant performance as they go 2-0 up in the five-match series as they beat New Zealand by 90 runs at the Bay Oval.
Meanwhile, openers Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan set the platform for India with a 154-run partnership. However, both the batsmen missed on an excellent opportunity to score a hundred. On a track with nothing in it for the bowlers, Virat Kohli opted to bat first, and his openers made the full of it. The visitors reached the 100-run mark in the 18th over as Rohit brought his half-century. Soon after, Dhawan also strode to his fifty with two back-to-back fours.
Having run out of options, Kane Williamson was forced to turn to Trent Boult relatively earlier that he would have liked. Boult’s second spell, however, immediately breakthrough. He dismissed Dhawan and Rohit also followed soon after.

Skipper Virat Kohli then led the charge, but the New Zealand bowlers bounced back in grand style to contain the batters. But MS Dhoni and Kedar Jadhav break free in the last two overs to score 35 runs to post 324 runs on the board.
Kuldeep leads the charge
New Zealand, meanwhile, started the chase steadily but once their openers departed, they looked wobbly. Skipper Kane Williamson also got out inside-edged after smashing Mohammed Shami for two six and one boundary. The hosts once again faltered as Virat Kohli brought his spin duo into the attack. Yuzvendra Chahal started the damage dismissing Colin Munro and then Kuldeep Yadav was all over the Kiwi batting. Although Doug Bracewell tried to counter-attack putting on 57 runs including three sixes, Indian bowlers kept their nerves to seal the tie.

Following India dominant victory, Virender Sehwag hailed the Indian National Cricket team and they eased through the victory. In addition to, he also lauded Kuldeep Yadav for returning with two four-wicket hauls in two consecutive matches.
“Mission Domination! Another dominant performance and an easy victory for Team India. Fantastic bowling performance in both matches from @imkuldeep18,” Virender Sehwag tweeted.
