India vs South Africa 2020: India’s Probable Squad For The ODI Series; After a disappointing whitewash against New Zealand in ODI series, India set to host South Africa in three-match ODI games. The first game of the series will be played at Dharamsala on March 12th while the second and third ODI matches are scheduled to play at Lucknow and Eden Gardens Kolkata respectively.

Following a poor show in the middle against New Zealand, the Indian National Cricket Team would like to pull their socks up for the series against South Africa.

The visiting side got good stats against India in ODI series, which ensure a thrilling contest between the duo ahead of all-exciting Indian Premier League (IPL).

Meanwhile, we came up with India’s Probable Squad.

India’s Probable 15-Man Squad For ODI Series Against South Africa:

1. Prithvi Shaw:

Though he couldn’t make the most of the opportunity against New Zealand, the flamboyant batsman proved he got the mettle to make things fall in place.

With Rohit Sharma expected to stay away, Prithvi Shaw might get one more opportunity to get big scores under his belt.

He got starts in all three games but in pursuit of scoring quick runs, Shaw lost his wicket before converting them into big knocks.

2. Shikhar Dhawan:

Well, Shikhar Dhawan is expected to make a comeback into the team while Mayank Agarwal is the likely candidate to make a way for his senior opener.

The flamboyant batsman failed to make it happen for India in the entire series against New Zealand, where he failed to counter the swing of the Kiwis bowlers.

Meanwhile, Dhawan would like to make this opportunity count.

The skipper of the Indian National Cricket Team would like to make a sound comeback in the ODI format after a poor show in New Zealand. He failed not only as a skipper but also failed to score runs with his willow.

Virat Kohli would look to make the most of the upcoming series against South Africa, who enter with double energy after brilliant show against England.

4. Shreyas Iyer:

This lad is in super form for India, scoring runs in almost every given opportunity. He was the highest run-scorer for India in New Zealand ODIs and would like to repeat the show in the Indian Conditions as well.

Shreyas Iyer will be one of the pillars to rely on during the series.

He kept on proving his talent with his run of scores in the limited opportunities.

The upcoming series might give him a much-needed break, as he could get the opportunity to bat higher up in the order.

As a floater, he did his job to cement his position in the Indian team.

6. Ravindra Jadeja:

Ravindra Jadeja is one such player, who will straightaway walk into the squad for his impressive show in the recent past.

He put on the show against New Zealand as well but unfortunately, couldn’t cross the line when it was required.

7. Sanju Samson:

Yeah, this lad would get the nod ahead of Mayank Agarwal for the upcoming series. With Karnataka player failing to deliver the goods, Sanju Samson might get the opportunity as the third opener in the side.

He already has enough runs in his basket to make things fall in place. Though his chances are slim to get into playing XI, Sanju Samson will hope for the best.

8. KL Rahul:

Well, he is yet another player, who has acquired direct access to the Indian team.

The flamboyant batsman is in the form of his life and delivering goods in all the departments, in which, he was being asked by the team management.

The Karnataka batsman is in scintillating form and would like to extend it against South Africa as well.

Surprisingly, he didn’t get a single game under his belt in New Zealand in limited-overs formats of the game. With KL Rahul doing the wicketkeeper-batsman role, Rishabh Pant is warming the bench for a while.

However, he might get the nod, as there is no reason to drop him out.

The Mumbai fast bowler had one of the worst outings in the final game against New Zealand. He was taken to cleaners by New Zealand bowlers to whitewash India.

However, Shardul Thakur has become a regular contributor with the bat, which would help him get one more chance to wear Indian Jersey.

He had a mixed tour of New Zealand. Navdeep Saini showed his brilliance in one game before being whacked to the boundary fence in the next game.

Irrespective of those performances, he would walk straight into the squad for his previous performances for India.

12. Jasprit Bumrah:

The flamboyant cricketer would like to showcase his class with the ball in the upcoming series.

After going wicketless in the previous series against New Zealand, all eyes will be on his performance in the series against South Africa.

Bumrah is yet to deliver an impactful performance for India since his comeback into the Indian team.

Surprisingly, Shami failed to make an impact in the New Zealand series with the ball.

More often than not, he was taken to cleaners by the New Zealand batsman and also lost his place in the playing XI.

However, he would like to make a comeback against South Africa.

Yuvzendra Chahal was the only bowler, who was consistent with his performances against New Zealand. He never allowed the opposition to get better off him and often gave breakthroughs for India with his mastery.

The leg-spinner would once again play a key role in the series against South Africa.

Kuldeep Yadav had a below-par series in New Zealand. He was taken to cleaners often than not to make things tough for him to survive in the middle.

However, with Indian tracks on offer, Kuldeep Yadav would like to make the most of the opportunity against Young South Africa cricketers.
