Meanwhile, the Men in Blue whitewashed the Carribean side by 2-0 in the Test series. They won the first game by an innings and 272 runs and followed it up with a ten-wicket win in next match. Meanwhile, debutant Prithvi Shaw scored his maiden Test century in his debut match. He also earned the Player of the Series for scoring 237 in the tournament.
After the massive win in the Tests, the Men in Blue also won the ODI series against Windies by 3-1. Virat Kohli had played some excellent knock and also added some impressive records in the tournament. Kohli became the fastest batsman to score 10,000 runs in One Day Internationals. He also scored three centuries consecutively in the first three ODIs. Later, he got awarded as the Player of the Series.
