India vs Windies 2018: I Prefer Kuldeep Yadav Over Ravindra Jadeja - Ajit Agarkar

How many of you are surprised to see India leaving out Kuldeep Yadav in the first ODI against Windies at Guwahati? India preferred Ravindra Jadeja ahead of Kuldeep Yadav in order to strengthen their batting line-up. Meanwhile, the former cricketer Ajit Agarkar isn’t impressed and wants Kuldeep back in the side for Vizag ODI.

Windies batted superbly against Indians on the other day, especially, Shimron Hetmyer, who scored a brilliant century to his name. He was the same batsman, who was dismissed thrice while facing Kuldeep Yadav in Test format of the game.

Indian batting is strong, prefer Kuldeep Yadav – Ajit Agarkar

The former Mumbaikar feels the Indian batting line-up is pretty much strong with all the batsmen in sublime form. He feels there would be no use of Jadeja, as the batsman in the top-order are finishing the match more often than not.

Further, he added Kuldeep Yadav is an economical bowler alongside picking up wickets as well. Ajit Agarkar feels Kuldeep Yadav has got enough goods in him to restrict Windies to lesser score than what they have achieved in Guwahati.

“If they go with 2 spinners, Kuldeep Yadav should be the preferred option. Batting looks in a decent shape and Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli showed what kind of form they are having. Rayudu also got runs while Shikhar Dhawan has always been consistent for the team. I put the onus on the six batsmen,” Ajit Agarkar quoted to ESPN Cricinfo.

“We saw Chahal doing very well against Windies batsmen. If they go with three spinners, I chose Jadeja otherwise Kuldeep Yadav will be my preferred option. I am sure they would restrict the opposition less than 322 on the board,” he added to his lines.

However, as Ajit Agarkar said, the inclusion of Kuldeep Yadav is pretty much on the cards. With Vizag wicket assisting spinners, we might see India going with three spinners as well by leaving out Shami or Khaleel Ahmed.
