India vs Windies 2018: Shai Hope Replaces Andre Russell for T20Is

Windies suffered a significant blow, as the all-rounder Andre Russell got ruled out of the three-match T20I series against India, confirmed Courtney Browne. Meanwhile, the detailed of the injury is yet to verify. However, Shai Hope has been named in the squad after he had produced a significant show in the ODI series, hitting a hundred and 95 in ODI. Meanwhile, the team is already without the services of Chris Gayle and Sunil Narine though Pollard and Darren Bravo are part of the squad.
Russell to miss India’s T20Is
Earlier. Ashley Nurse got pulled-out of the remainder from the squad due to a shoulder injury. He got injured during the fourth ODI against India in Mumbai. Moreover, Andre Russell was forced to skip the Windies team practice session on the eve of their first T20 game against the Men in Blue at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
“Andre Russell and Sunil Narine are injured at this time. Ashley Nurse will miss both the remainder of the India tour and the Bangladesh tour as he recovers from his injury. We wish the team every success on a challenging assignment in India,” Browne said in a statement.
However, Andre Russell last featured in the Afghanistan Premier League (APL).
Meanwhile, in the ODI series, Windies got hammered in the two-Tests series before they lost the five-match ODI series 1-3. Furthermore, Russell has played 47 T20Is scoring 465 runs with a healthy strike rate of 141.33. The 30-year old cricketer has also picked up 25 wickets in the shortest format of the game.
