Shaw was adjudged the Man of the series in his maiden series. Thus, he had a dream start to his career. The young batsman showed great promise in his strokeplay and his comparisons with former great players have begun.

Prithvi Shaw scored a majestic 134 in his debut innings and thus bagged the Man of the match award. He went on to play a free-flowing knock of 70 in the first innings of the second Test match. Subsequently, he followed it with an unbeaten 33 to finish his maiden series with 237 runs.

Therefore, it was a complete performance from the 18-year old batsman. He was able to announce himself at the big stage. Thus, he was able to write a good first chapter to his International book.

Furthermore, Shaw showed great skills in his strokeplay. He showed no signs of nerves in his maiden series which was a positive sign. In fact, Shaw showed the right technique at such a tender age and there is no doubt that he is going to get better from here.
