India vs Windies 2018: Twitter Reacts as India Obliterates Windies
Updated - 06 Oct 2018, 05:01 PM
As expected, India dominated the first Test match against the Windies as the hosts obliterated the visitors by a gargantuan margin of an innings and 272 runs. India was dominant right throughout the Test match as they had put together a mammoth total of 649-9 in the first innings. Meanwhile, Prithvi Shaw, Virat Kohli, and Ravindra Jadeja scored centuries to help India in posting a big total.
Subsequently, Indian bowlers were able to back their batsmen as they were able to dismiss Windies for a paltry score of 181 in the first innings. In fact, Windies could not also put a better performance in the second innings as they skittled out for 196 runs in the second innings.
It was a clinical performance from India.
India’s mystery chinaman Kuldeep Yadav was the chief destroyer of the tourist’s innings. Kuldeep scalped his first five-wicket haul of the red ball version as he breathed down the neck of the visitor’s batsmen.
The Windies batsmen tried to bail themselves out of the jail by opting to play the big shots. Thus, they didn’t show any intention to fight it out in the middle. Consequently, it was a dismal performance from the Carribean nation.
Meanwhile, Ravichandran Ashwin was the pick of the bowlers in the first innings. India’s premium spinner scalped four wickets in the first dig.
Thus, India was able to tick all the right boxes in the first Test match against the depleted Windies side. Meanwhile, it was a disappointing performance from the visitors. Kieran Powell showed some resistance with the bat in the second innings as he scored a fine knock of 83. However, apart from him, no Windies batsman was interested to stay at the crease.
Therefore, the hosts will look to continue their domination in the second Test match. The second Test match will take place from 12th October at Hyderabad.

At this rate, India could have given West Indies a third innings and still won by an innings.
