After a disastrous tour of England, India will be back in familiar territory as they meet Windies in a two-match Test series at home starting from October 4 at Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium, in Rajkot.  Before the start of the tour, Windies will play a warm-up match against the Board President’s XI side. The squad for the same has been announced by the selectors for the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

Moreover, they have named a 13-man squad which will be led by Karun Nair.

The squad features familiar faces from the domestic circuit. It was Ishan Porel, who received his first call-up to the Indian side. He was one of the heroes for the India Under-19 team which won the World Cup earlier in New Zealand.

Porel bagged two crucial wickets in the final of the tournament against Australia. His effort proved to be a match-winning effort in the end.

India will play Windies in a Test series starting from 4th October:

Mayank Agarwal, who has become a stalwart for India A. Eventually, he has already retained his place along with young 18-year-old Prithvi Shaw, who recently earned a national call-up during the tour of England.

Hanuma Vihari, who made his Test debut for the senior side during the last Test in England is part of the squad. Shreyas Iyer has led the India A side on several occasions. However, this time around selectors opted to have Nair as a leader.

The wicket-keeping duties will be carried by Ishan Kishan, who has already made a name for himself with his whirlwind batting. He is a capable keeper behind the stumps. Basil Thampi, Avesh Khan, K Vignesh and Porel are the quicker bowlers in the team.

The team consists of some serious match winners. And there is no doubt about the fact that they will pose a major threat to the Windies.
