Since the inception of cricket, it has evolved to manifolds. Scoring a double century was seen to be a thing only for Test cricket but as time has gone by and cricket has evolved many cricketers have proved that the feat can be achieved in ODIs as well. In fact, Test legend Rahul Dravid had said that he would have not been able to survive modern day cricket as his strike-rate was way below than what cricketers have today.

Rahul Dravid was one of the greatest Test cricketer to have played the game. He could bat through the innings and it looked like he would never get tired. His capability frustrated the bowlers as they found it often difficult to dislodge him. He scored five double centuries, three came in overseas conditions — against Pakistan in Rawalpindi, Australia at Adelaide and England at Oval. The other two arrived at Feroz Shah Kotla and Sardar Patel Stadium in Ahmedabad.

His defensive techniques were brilliant as well which depicted the sheer patience the man had got. Moreover, the little master, had almost every shots in his textbook that a batsman can ever think of.

Gavaskar was more a defensive batsman who watched the ball closely before having a go at it. He could help the scoreboard ticking with his technique and helped the national team provide solidity with his efforts. He was confronted by the Indian supporters for his infamous knock of 36 not out in the 1975 World Cup in the 60 overs contest against England.

He scored four double centuries out of which three came against the West Indies.

Sachin Tendulkar loved the game and worked rigorously to earn the distinction of ‘God of cricket’. His was not a regular Mumbaikar story. It was a story of grit, passion, unbelievable skills to make things work like he did against the West Indies in early 90s. The short-pitched deliveries from the West Indies fast bowler was a worrying sight for most Indian batsmen. Vinod Kambli, who was referred to as Sachin Tendulkar’s peer in the initial days, fell prey to it. But Tendulkar had different plans!

Tendulkar scored five double centuries out of which two came in overseas conditions and one in the ODIs.
