Since the inception of cricket, it has evolved to manifolds. Scoring a double century was seen to be a thing only for Test cricket but as time has gone by and cricket has evolved many cricketers have proved that the feat can be achieved in ODIs as well. In fact, Test legend Rahul Dravid had said that he would have not been able to survive modern day cricket as his strike-rate was way below than what cricketers have today.

Rahul Dravid
Rahul Dravid was one of the greatest Test cricketer to have played the game. He could bat through the innings and it looked like he would never get tired. His capability frustrated the bowlers as they found it often difficult to dislodge him. He scored five double centuries, three came in overseas conditions — against Pakistan in Rawalpindi, Australia at Adelaide and England at Oval. The other two arrived at Feroz Shah Kotla and Sardar Patel Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Sunil Gavaskar
Sunil Gavaskar was the greatest opener to have played the game. He had enormous talent and concentration which made him difficult to be dismissed. His defensive techniques were brilliant as well which depicted the sheer patience the man had got. Moreover, the little master, had almost every shots in his textbook that a batsman can ever think of.
Gavaskar was more a defensive batsman who watched the ball closely before having a go at it. He could help the scoreboard ticking with his technique and helped the national team provide solidity with his efforts. He was confronted by the Indian supporters for his infamous knock of 36 not out in the 1975 World Cup in the 60 overs contest against England.
He scored four double centuries out of which three came against the West Indies.
Wasim Jaffer
Wasim Jaffer announced his retirement from all forms of cricket this year. He scored 19410 first-class runs at an average of 50.67. His contribution to domestic cricket has been immense. The Mumbai batsman also represented India in 31 Tests and scored 1944 runs at an average of 34.10.
Jaffer’s contribution to the game, especially in the domestic format is unmatched. So much so, that cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar feels he was a special player and his achievement was fantastic.
