While setting the focus on India’s Predicted XI, the formidable Team India on Wednesday has annihilated visiting side Sri Lanka in Mohali by 141 runs – to equal the series as the decider of the three-match competition would be interesting in Visakhapatnam which is slated for December 17 (Sunday).

Earlier, India lost the first ODI which further saw the hosts’ batters falling like the pack of cards, as the Islanders failed to replicate what they did in Dharamsala.

The stand-in skipper Rohit Sharma has knitted his team well after the loss in first ODI which further saw spinner Yuzvendra Chahal making it more daunting for the Lions after the Mumbai-based leader smashed his third ODI double century.

India’s Predicted XI: Here’s the expected playing XI of Team India.

Rohit Sharma:

Leading from the front Rohit Sharma is the red-hot property when it comes to playing the longer innings in the 50-over format in particular.

After smashing the double-hundred, the right-handed opening batsman would be focusing on series win while giving his best with the bat

Shikhar Dhawan:

The left-handed batsman Shikhar Dhawan has been a first-choice in the ODI format which further saw him scoring runs while banking on his strong zone. He smashed a fifty in Mohali ODI which would further set his tone to do well in the series decider in Visakhapatnam on December 17.

Shreyas Iyer:

The right-handed batsman Shreyas Iyer has shown what he is capable of doing at the top with the willow.

Concurrently, with regular skipper Virat Kohli on limited-overs break, Iyer has made most out of the opportunity to collect 88 runs in his second ODI fixture which came off just 70 balls at Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) Stadium in Mohali.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni:

The gloveman in the form of MS Dhoni might have scored just seven in the second innings, but he is known for playing his imperative role in the middle owing to his cool and calm composure.

The senior campaigner is believed to be strengthening the core which has been important for the team as a unit.

Dhoni could be more threatening when he is at his best.

Hardik Pandya:

More sort of a seam-bowling all-rounder Hardik Pandya is an all-important figure. However, in the second match, he picked the solitary and prized scalp of Sri Lankan opener Upul Tharanga.

Pandya, who scored just eight has, however, the potential to score at pace and pick wickets for his side owing to his never say die attitude.

Dinesh Karthik:

The wicket-keeper batsman Dinesh Karthik might not have batted in the second ODI after India posted 392 on the board, but he is the one who rotates the strike well and his ability to score runs quickly down the order.

Manish Pandey:

The right-handed batsman Manish Pandey is known for his batting prowess and could play his part while banking on his strength to rotate the strike and then go after the inexperienced bowling line-up.

Kuldeep Yadav:

The chinaman Kuldeep Yadav is expected to come in place of the 18-year-old Chennai-based all-rounder Washington Sundar. And that’s what we expected the least change for India’s Predicted XI.

The wrist-spinner Kuldeep is known for making things difficult for the batsman, as Sundar in his maiden ODI game conceded 65 runs in 10 overs for a wicket. Unfortunately, he was made to don the cap on a flat-bedded surface.

However, Rohit himself admitted the fact by saying it was the flat wicket to bat on and Sundar would learn the niceties of it with the team.

Yuzvendra Chahal

The leg-spinner has been working hard on his bowling and he has proved it yet again to be among the wickets.

The pick of the bowlers in Mohali which saw the Team India levelling the series one-each, Chahal managed to pick three wickets.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar:

The bowling spearhead has been on a roll for India and his limited-overs stats proved that quite often.

Bhuvneshwar has been focusing to give his hundred percent in a bid to make things difficult for the opposition.

Jasprit Bumrah:

The sensational bowler in Jasprit Bumrah seemed to have the only problem with his front-foot. He has been phenomenal with the ball which further saw him often containing the batsmen.
