A couple of days of IPL auction yet again changed the lives of many especially those who hasn’t quite made their mark in international cricket yet. There were some millionaire teenagers who bagged whopping contracts especially after heroics in the U 19 World Cup. Even uncapped stars secured good contracts and became overnight millionaires.
For the 2nd time in a row, English all-rounder Ben Stokes became the most expensive player in the auction. There were several players whose life changed after the auctions. Here are 10 most expensive players who will play in IPL 11.
Ben Stokes – Rs 12.5 crores by the Rajasthan Royals

The English all-rounder was one of the hot contenders and like the previous year he fetched a whopping Rs 12.5 crores and was snapped up by the inaugural IPL champions Rajasthan Royals. Incidentally, he also fetched Rs 14.5 crores last year when he was bought by interim franchise Rising Pune Supergiant. He is one of the best contemporary all-rounders especially in the shortest format and will play a huge role in the outcome of Royals.
Jaydev Unadkat – Rs 11.5 crores by the Rajasthan Royals

The left-arm pacer has been a sensational bowler in the shortest format of the game and hence he was expected to fetch a good price. He was the highest wicket-taker n the previous edition of the tournament and courtesy his prowess in the recent past, Rajasthan Royals bought him for Rs 11.5 crores and also became the most expensive Indian player. Meanwhile, Unadkat was the first player bought by Rajasthan on Day 2 of the auctions.
KL Rahul – Rs 11 crores by the Kings XI Punjab

Rahul was bought by the Kings XI Punjab for Rs 11 crores and though such a huge bidding might not have been expected but given Rahul’s abilities to play the big shots on a consistent basis he was definitely going to be a hot contender in the auctions. He is among those very players who have smashed international centuries in all 3 formats of the game.
Manish Pandey – Rs 11 crores by Sunrisers Hyderabad

Pandey was snapped up by the Sunrises Hyderabad for a whopping 11 crores. He has been a consistent performer for his past IPL teams Kolkata Knight Riders and the Mumbai Indians. He also was the first Indian player to score a century in IPL.
Chris Lynn – Rs 9.5 crores by the Kolkata Knight Riders
The swashbuckling batsman from Australia was retained via RTM by KKR for a whopping Rs 9.5 crores. Lynn is undoubtedly one of the most dangerous batsmen in the tournament and given his ability to smash sixes at will, the two-time champions decided to retain him for a huge sum.
Mitchell Starc – Rs 9.4 crores by the Kolkata Knight Riders
The left-arm pacer is one of the best death overs bowler in the world and given his ability to bowl Yorkers on a consistent basis, KKR was pretty eager to buy him. He didn’t play last year. However, he played for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2016.
Glenn Maxwell – Rs 9 crores by the Delhi Daredevils

The Australian all-rounder was snapped up by the Delhi Daredevils for Rs 9 crores. He made his presence felt during the 2014 edition when he led Kings XI Punjab and took them to the final of the tournament before losing to Kolkata Knight Riders. He is also a useful off-break bowler and can give his captain a couple of overs in the middle.
Rashid Khan – Rs 9 crores by the Sunrisers Hyderabad

The Afghanistan teenage spin sensation Rashid Khan was retained by the Sunrisers Hyderabad via Right to Match. There was no doubt about the fact that SRH was looking to retain him. He has been a sensation for the Afghans and his success is a just a testimony of what sort of tricks he has up his sleeve.
Krunal Pandya – Rs 8.8 crores by the Mumbai Indians

The all-rounder was retained by the Mumbai Indians via Right to Match as there was no doubt about the fact that the defending champions were looking to retain him. He has been a sensational performer for Mumbai and just like his brother he lends the much-needed stability and balance to the team.
Sanju Samson – Rs 8 crores by the Rajasthan Royals

The youngster from Kerala has made some valuable contributions in the IPL and on occasions has set the tournament ablaze with his exceptional display of batsmanship. He can consistently smash the big shots and can also keep wickets. He was bought by Rajasthan for a huge price of Rs 8 crores.
