IPL 2018: AB de Villiers Comes Up With an Epic Reply to Virat Kohli's 'Spiderman' Remark

Royal Challengers Bangalore’s (RCB) AB de Villiers came up an interesting response to his skipper Virat Kohli’s ‘Spiderman’ remark after the game against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).

Meanwhile, de Villiers defied gravity to plunge on to a one-handed stunning catch – to dismiss Alex Hales. However, de Villiers is no stranger to superhuman feats of athleticism.

The ‘Superman’ de Villiers was fielding at the deep mid-wicket boundary when he pouched a screamer – to dismiss English pick, Hales.

Somehow, defying the gravity De Villiers managed to pouch on to the fiercely-struck ball and stay within the rope.

Post the match, Kohli was in awe of his teammate’s humongous effort. However, Kohli admitted only de Villiers can pull off those things and he is used to it.

“That was Spiderman stuff. You don’t do that as normal human beings. I thought it was going for a six but he pulled it off, then the jump and then the balance. I mean he can do freakish things but I am used to it now. His shots still leave me in awe but his fielding I am pretty used to now,” Kohli said after the game.

Kohli reiterated the same on his social media posts as well.

However, AB de Villiers was quick to spot and came up with an epic reply. He remarked that he likes to share nicknames with Virat.

Hence, they often keep each other going strong with such nicknames that act as pep talks for them.

“There has never been any kind of rivalry between us because we have grown to understand and respect each other. ‘Come on, you little biscuit.’ ‘OK, let’s play, you little beauty.’ Virat and I share a liking for nicknames, and we have become very tight over all these years,” Villiers maintained.
